Susan Gibbs

Susan Gibbs is the CEO of Ideas for the Authors of Inclusion

Susan’s career path has taken her on a journey of growth and knowledge. She spent several years working in the hospitality industry, in both service and management, allowing her to work with people from across the globe.

She changed course and returned to school, graduating with an Honours Diploma in Public Relations. Susan then joined policing, working in Corporate Communications, and honed her skills in the fast-paced world of policing.  She immediately established a reputation for taking action and engaging with both members and the community. Her creativity and passion have helped her develop various initiatives, engaging events and unique training opportunities.

Susan has a passion for inclusion and has focused on fostering a greater understanding of our global community. She has furthered her education, completing the Leadership and Inclusion Certificate from Centennial College and the Indigenous Canada Certificate from the University of Alberta. Susan is also an active member of numerous committees including the PRIDE Internal Support Network, the Anti-Black Racism Working Group and the Working With Restrictions Internal Support Network. 

She has been recognized numerous times for her efforts and her contributions both at work and in the community are unparrelled. Susan received the Herbert H. Carnegie Community Award, the Rob Plunkett Outstanding Service to the Community Award, the Serving with Pride Ally Award and several additional acknowledgments. 

In 2020, Susan launched the SC Gibbs FUNdation, a fundraising charity in honour of her brother, whose mission is to do good and have fun doing it. She has raised fund for both the 2SLGBTQ+ community and for veterans and hopes to inspire others to give back to their community.
